A Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis, (HTMA), is a non-invasive screening tool that analyzes a small sample of hair to evaluate mineral levels, ratios, pattens and nine primary toxic metals. At Holistic Wellness From Within, I use HTMA as an essential tool that may provide insight into your body’s nutritional and physiological health.

Analytical Research Labs (ARL) is one of only two labs that does not wash the hair samples upon arrival for testing. How HTMA Differs From Blood Tests
HTMA is used around the world to monitor trace elements and toxic metals in humans and animals. The same technology is also used to assess mineral content in soil and rock.
Hair, like all other body tissues, contains minerals that are deposited in the hair as it grows. Although the hair shaft is no longer living tissue, the minerals remain as the hair continues to grow. A hair sample collected close to the scalp provides a record of mineral activity, including mineral levels, ratios, and patterns, incorporated into the hair over the previous three to four months. This makes HTMA different than blood testing. HTMA offers insight into your “cellular health” while blood tests measure substances circulating in the blood at the time of collection.
